search-consult Launches New Courses In US

search-consult, which is dedicated to publishing the latest global news, trends and features about the search industry, has teamed up with Gai Galitzine & Betty Wong Tomita to provide courses on retained executive search skills to researchers and consultants in the US.

Gai Galitzine and Betty Wong Tomita have been active in executive search since the mid 1970’s. They both worked together at Gould & McCoy (now known as Chadick & Ellig). In 1986 Betty left this firm to work independently, Gai followed suit in 1990. In 1997, they established Global Research Partnership, Inc conducting successful searches in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Furthermore, Gai has run executive search training for the Executive Search Roundtable and is an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University’s Graduate School of Business. Betty has conducted training in executive search for search firms and corporate HR organizations as well as cross-cultural workshops for companies working with Japanese organizations.

Jason Starr, Managing Director of Dillistone Systems/search-consult, commented: "We are pleased to be working with Gai and Betty. They both have prestigious reputations in the search industry, and we are delighted that our partnership will allow them to pass on their skills to consultants and researchers interested in improving their executive search skills, especially as competition continues to intensify."

The workshops aim is for the attendee to attain a good understanding and a systematic coverage of the market place, as well learn effective techniques and approaches to improve their network skills in obtaining and assessing better candidates for their clients.

Moreover, these workshops intend to deal with the day-to-day needs of consultants for skills and structured work practices, but also to offer insights into skill standards and ethics across the industry.

The first course is going to focus on research and candidate development while the second course is going to concentrate on search execution and client management. Those interested could attend both workshops or just select the course of their choice. Places are still available for April courses in New York.
